When do you taunt ultraxion

In 25 player Heroic Difficulty, Ultraxion sucks the light out of six random players. In Raid Finder Difficulty, Ultraxion only sucks the light out of his current target. In 25 player Normal Difficulty, if Hour of Twilight hits less than three players, the Aspects take the full brunt of the attack. In 10 player Heroic Difficulty, if Hour of Twilight hits less than two players, the Aspects take the full brunt of the attack.

In 25 player Heroic Difficulty, if Hour of Twilight hits less than five players, the Aspects take the full brunt of the attack. In Looking for Raid Difficulty, the Aspects can never take the full brunt of the attack. Comments Comment by This isn't really made clear in the dungeon journal, so to clarify on Nozdormu's buff: -He will cast this twice on the whole raid - once straight after the fourth and once after the fifth hour of twilight.

This then cancels the buff, so it only works once until he recasts it. The buff is designed to help with the massive raid damage going out in those last two minutes of the fight.

Unless your DPS is very high due to being overgeared for the encounter, you will definitely need to survive the fifth minute, and then healers must keep you up for as long as needed in the sixth minute to kill the boss.

The fight is basically a gear check, both for DPS and for healers. The twilight realm mechanics are pretty straightforward and it's a case of kill him before he kills you.

The enrage timer is deceptive - it's unlikely your healers will be able to keep you up for the entirety of the sixth minute, you probably have more like 5 minutes 30 seconds. This is for normal difficulty. If you are having trouble on DPS, try 2 heal it. We tried not to stress the tanks that much so we used the following order to handle them: 1. Tank 5. Tank or Shadow Priest. Depending on the cooldown of Dispersion 6. Planning the 8th Hour of Twilight is practically pointless where Ultraxion will immediately cast Twilight Eruption and wipe your raid.

Comment by Here are some major tips for all Raids out there with Rogues in group; - Cloak of Shadows allows you to completely avoid the damage of Hour of Twilight , while still allowing the Rogue using Cloak of Shadows to DPS Ultraxion, and prevent the Aspects from being killed. Ultraxion doesn't care that you can avoid the damage, he just minds himself with the fact that there are live players in the Twilight Realm.

Comment by mijoruk Experiment b , a rare mount, drops from this boss. It's an extremely low drop rate. Comment by Kathucka Just completed this on man normal with a solo tank.

It would be easy if everyone were fully decked out in Firelands heroic gear or gear from this raid , but we weren't. The healing gets much more difficult after five minutes, with an AoE every second. You simply can't last long. The best way for us to beat that was to to use seven damage-dealers and win before the incoming raid damage got too intense.

You're supposed to use two tanks. When the current tank gets Fading Light and uses Heroic Will, the other tank is supposed to take over, so that no damage-dealer gets hit by melee. There is another way. With a single tank, that tank waits until the last possible moment to hit the Heroic Will button. The expiration of Fading Light quickly puts him back into the twilight realm. He then instantly taunts. If he times everything exactly right, he'll survive and will pop out of and into the twilight realm so quickly that Ultraxion will never get off a melee hit.

Note that this is extremely risky, as one screw-up will kill a damage-dealer, but it works if the tank never screws up. Fading Light never hits healers, and never hits the off-tank.

It hits the current target and a damage-dealer. Aside from beating the DPS check, the hardest part about this fight is training everyone when to hit the Heroic Will button for Fading Light. Fading Light has a random duration from seconds. Heroic Will has a five-second duration, followed by a five-second cooldown.

If you hit it instantly when you get Fading Light, you die, so don't do that. To survive, you have the hit the button when you have five or fewer seconds left of Fading Light. The key is to watch the countdown on the Fading Light debuff and hit the button when you have just one or two seconds left. That way, you survive, and you spend as little time as possible away from dealing damage.

The tank ones have longer durations and shorter cooldowns for this fight. The reduced stress on the healers matters. The entire raid should be bunched up in front of the boss for AoE heals, bubbles, etc. Comment by Will Twilight Eruption hit through Timeloop and instantly wipe the whole raid regardless at the 6 minute timer?

Comment by Superchief So for 25 man is it about a 30k minimum consistent dps, to beat the enrage? Per dps member? Comment by Hanz0 Note that him, unlike other boses with huge hitbox that are static and cannot be moved only turned, cannot be hit from the back regardless of how much your tank faces him away from you. Kinda disappointing for some melees. Comment by mstieler Note: Feral Druids are your friend in this fight.

HoT hits every 45 sec so: 1. Feral s 2. Anyone else 3. Feral s 4. Anyone else else 5. Feral s 6. Anyone more elser 7. Feral s We discovered this the hard way when our Feral offtank began the fight in Cat form for some additional DPS. Comment by We found that if our tanks use their CDs before Thrall casts the buff then they get instantly refreshed.

Once the raid has weakened soul, just PoH spam times and repeat. Haven't had a chance to test in man, but I'd assume you could just spam your heart out. Also, Divine Hymn is kinda crazy at this level of haste. Comment by The following power aura will place a fading light timer near your feet so you know when to phase out of the twilight realm. As long as you're near topped off, AMS alone can handle all of the other casts.

And mostly for fun, Last Defender of Azeroth resets the cooldown of every ability it effects when it's first cast on you, and with the short delay before it goes active, you can just pop every single cooldown at the start of teh fight and then have them immediately reset.

Comment by Xedosz We actually found this to be much easier with 2 good, geared healers on 10 man. Since the duration of the last part after Timeloop , which is arguably the hardest part of the fight, is considerably shorter with an extra dps.

Heck, with improved Recuperate they can probably self-heal it too. We'll have to wait and see how it'll end up being, but i suspect that it'll be like Theralion and valiona heroic : if you have a good sub rogue the fight is extremely simplified. We just killed this boss on man moments ago with 2 tanks, 3 healers and 5 damage dealers. Average ilvl of the whole raid was maybe We had a Restoration shaman picking up all the buffs.

Pretty easy and fun fight once you get the hang of it! Good luck! Comment by Green buff is awesome for Resto Shamans.

Essence of Dreams: 4 healing done which was Cheers, As. Comment by Hoofen We made several attempts last night using both the 1 tank and 2 tank methods and also 2 heals and 3 heals methods. We have a couple new members in our 10 man team so we had other issues but our best attempts were with 2 tanks and 2 heals. The poster that said the one tank method would allow for the tank to click the button at the last second and get back into taunt was not kidding when he said it had to be flawless.

Everytime we tried this the tank was able to time it correct but there is 10 seconds with no theat so he was able to taunt as soon as he came out but after the 3 seconds were up the boss would turn and one-shot a dps. So we stuck with the 2 tank method for a few attempts we wiped due to lack of dps everytime so we went with two heals and we were very close on the last couple attempts for the night.

Our best attempt was less then 2mil health so my opinion is if your healers can handle it this seems like a viable strat. Comment by Baskosvk Done it this week. This fight has a very easy tactic, so its just test of your DPS. It should be done with 2 tanks and 3 healers, but it seems ours DPS was not high enough for this.

So we tried to change numbers of tanks and healers, we tried it with 1 tank and 3 healers, 2 tanks and 2 healers, but it didnt work.

So we tried do it on 1 tank and 2 healers, just for fun: and it worked. Killed in 5 minutes and 10 sec, with average dps about k tank had 18k.

But there is a lot of things that can ruin your fight. Tank need to wait on Fading Light to last second, so a little connection problem may kill him, also often happen that some DPS get melee hit from boss as tank loose threath after fading light, if this DPS is some ranged basicaly anybody who doesnt wear plate its often instant kill.

And as it usually is, when someone die in 10 man its over. But it can be done, so if you have too low DPS for this try it :. Comment by arkensis For Damage dealers who are new to this fight, pay close attention to the cast time of Hour of Twilight and to the debuff timer on Fading Light. You will substantially reduce the amount of damage you do in the fight if you use Heroic Will too early.

Heroic Will lasts for 5 seconds, and is instant cast - if you cast it during the last second of the Hour of Twilight cast or of the Fading Light debuff, you'll put yourself out of commission for a much smaller amount of time. Over the course of the fight, this could mean actively causing damage for an additional 30 seconds or more. Multiply that 30 seconds by 5 or 6 damage dealers, and you might find yourselves able to down Ultraxion. Comment by The macro above will not work if you are casting, and it has been the cause for many wipes.

Comment by Conduras just killed him for the first time in 10 man , probably the best tank here is DK. Comment by martanius This is easy encouter, if you have good heal and DPS and all know what to do. So what you need to do is : - Boss will debuff you with this spell, duration is seconds so if you have this debuff use Heroic Will you will be 5 seconds in normal realm and debuff MUST expire in normal realm!

So activate the Heroic Will when will less than 5 seconds remaining so seconds then use Heroic Will. Hour of Twilight - Boss will sometime cast this spell, so when will three quarters left in boss's cast bar use Heroic Will!

Have boss in Focus Target, so you will see if he cast Hour of Twilight , so use Heroic Will when will three quarters left in boss's cast bar. Keep eye on boss's cast bar, Hour of Twilight , activate Heroic Will when will three quarters left in boss's cast bar. Tactic for HC is very similar as normal tactic. Just all goes very very faster than normal. What you need? Tank Thinks are same as on normal but there are some differences. All goes very faster 2. Preparation We used 2 tanks and 2 healers.

Use trinkets that increase your dps if you can, even as a tank. Use elixirs and potions to increase your dps. As a druid I used an agility flask, my paladin co-tank used elixirs. Create a macro so that you can easily keybind Heroic Will. You will die if you click Heroic Will while Fading light has more than 5 seconds left. I always clicked Heroic Will with seconds left on the duration.

Thanks to the debuff, each player can at most soak every third Hour of Twilight. The fight has both a hard and a soft enragetimer, ensuring that close to or at the 6 minute mark, your raid willunavoidably wipe. The encounter does not present any complicated mechanics, although it doescontain two very punishing abilities, which must be dealt with perfectly eachtime.

Additionally, the fight requires a tank switch as well as a strong amountof AoE healing. For the whole duration of the fight, the boss and the raid willremain stationary. The five Aspects Alexstrasza, Ysera, Kalecgos, Nozdormu and Thrall offervarious buffs to your raid, during the encounter. These buffs do nottrivialise the fight, but rather make it possible to complete.

The encounter takes place in two realms: the Twilight Realm and the Normal Realm. Both of these realms are just regular realms. For the vast majority of the encounter, the raid will be within the Twilight Realm.

Raid members will only need to enterthe Normal Realm when they have to avoid specific abilities that Ultraxionuses. This occurs several times during the fight. The only way to exit the Twilight Realm is by using the Heroic Will ability.

This is an encounter specific ability, that appears on your screenin the form of a special action bar that looks like this:. Heroic Will has a 5 second cooldown and has no resource cost.

It is off theGlobal Cooldown and it can be used even while you are casting or channelinganother spell. Using Heroic Willhas no beneficial effects. It merely removes you from the Twilight Realm for5 seconds as we said, this is useful for avoiding certain mechanics. Duringthose 5 seconds, you are unable to perform any action whatsoever deal damage, heal or even move. Thebutton may may not display properly or at all if you are using any actionbar add-ons, although this does not affect the aforementioned key-binding'sefficiency.

Alternatively, you can use the following macro:. Clicking this macro which, of course, can be keybound , has the sameeffect as clicking the Heroic Will button. The five aspects provide various buffs to your raid. Thrall buffs yourtanks, Alexstrasza, Ysera and Kalecgos buff your healers and Nozdormu buffsyour entire raid. These buffs are given to your raid at different times duringthe fight, and we will present them in the order in which they appear.

At the start of the fight, Thrall will permanently buff all tanks with Last Defender of Azeroth. The healing buffs technically speaking, they are debuffs are given to the raid with the following timings:. When an aspect provides the raid with one of these buffs, correspondingcrystals 1 in man difficulty and 2 in man and LFR difficulties arecreated on the platform at fixed locations.

Healers, and only healers, havethe ability to right-click a crystal and gain the corresponding buff. Each healer can only gain a single one of these buffs. Each buff lastsuntil the end of the encounter. If the healer dies, the buff is lost and itcannot be regained if the healer is resurrected in combat, the buff will notpersist. In either difficulty setting, all healers shouldbe benefitting from one buff by the end of the encounter.
