He's an Elite 56, HP, damages you by Edited, Jan 6th pm by phabyo. Comment by Allakhazam The hill I found him around was at 63, Comment by Allakhazam I think this quest may be bugged. I saw him once and I went back to everlook to ditch my pet and tame him. When I got back, he had vanished. This took less than a minute and he could not have gotten that far and no one that could have got him was around.
No body either. Its like he just dissappeared. Comment by Allakhazam Soloed as 56 warlock. Fear kited him. Got an add, but I managed. Comment by Allakhazam Twice I was able to kill the yeti on the hill near 59,33 and get Ursius to spawn. I died the first time due to too many on me at once, but the second time I was able to tame Ursius.
I assumed you had to get the quest from the NPC in Everlook, but you don't. That's a horde quest anyway. So just go hit that hill, kill the yeti and you'll see Ursius spawn near 59, Comment by Allakhazam i've been looking for him for more the an houre Comment by Allakhazam Finally found him wandering area 59, Comment by Allakhazam is this just a horde quest?
Comment by Allakhazam The quest-text is acctualy wrong. Ursius does not spawn to the west of Everlook but to the north - north-east. Look for the giant tree. Once I found him he was surprisingly easy to take down. Solo'ed as a 57 rogue without breaking a sweat. Comment by Allakhazam i tamed him instead, dont have found the q yet, but i wanted it at pet since it got 2,4 attack speed if that did not change due to the 2 last patches im a little un updaded on things nowdays :p easy way for hunter to tame him since hes elite, you simply place a frost trap so he get trapped than use scorpid sting to lower his damage strength and agility he barely damaged me at all ; easy to tame when they are freezed :p.
Comment by Allakhazam Definitely check right by the flight point at 59, His stupid bear self was hiding behind a tree. Also, you all must be wearing gray gear or something because i soloed him as a 54 warlock with an add and they both perished. Learn to be a warlock. Comment by Allakhazam soloed easily as 59 warlock. Comment by Allakhazam Soloed this quest with a level 55 Frost Mage.
Wasn't an easy fight because he was often dealing more than damage to me and while kiting I aggroed another mob which I had to sheep, thus losing time. He dropped absolutely nothing though. Edited, Mon Aug 22 Comment by Allakhazam Took me 10mins to find me after trying those cords Saw him at 59, Edited, Mon Jan 2 Comment by Allakhazam easy as pie as a 56 BM hunter.
Had to pop a mana potion pet heals took a lot out of mana but it was still pretty easy. If you get aggroed by other bears in the area a good idea would be scare beast and attempt to finish ursius as quick as possible; he hits hard. I popped intimidation 2 times 1 in the start of the fight, 1 as soon as the cooldown was over and Beastial Wrath in the beginning of the fight.
Comment by Allakhazam Killed him last night, fairly easy take down for 60 hunter BM. If he disappeared while you were switching pets out my guess is someone tamed him while you were gone. You may have been gone a minute, but taming him takes a lot less then that. Comment by Allakhazam ok, first of all, i only found this mob by accident, then found out about the quest and Krol Blade as possible drop after looking it up.
I just finished this as a 53 warrior, with the help of a 44 priest, and let me tell you, at this level, it was NOT easy, as im sure youre aware.
We tried to kill him like 6 times and died every time. What we ended up doing is this: applied frost oil to each of my Hanzo swords, applied agility, and strength scrolls, elixir of greater defense, and power word shield. Comment by Allakhazam I wandered around Everlook in the relevant locations for about 2 hours an I was not able to find it.
I guess there may be a problem with respawn time. Comment by Allakhazam Elite my rear :P Level 55 frost mage, used my water ele to hit him first, the ele died pretty fast, then I used ice barrier and two frost novas while I frost bolted him to death. One health pot because I'm paranoid. Comment by Allakhazam easy kill, once i found him after some 15 mins. Comment by Allakhazam He was lurking near the horde flight path and I pulled him to the everlook guards and they killed the rest of him for me.
Easy kill :. Comment by Allakhazam solo'd as a 56 warlock demo spec. Comment by Allakhazam 56 BM Hunter, turned Growl off of my pet, trained him up and down the road in front of Everlook.
Distracting shot ftw. Comment by Allakhazam found him at 63, Comment by Javaah His spawn time is a mystery to me. I roamed around the cordinates where he is said to spawn 64, 24 ish for about an hour - nothing. Tried another day and there he was! Was quite easy to solo as a level 55 hunter. Just had to kite him a good 5 minutes or so.
Tested on TBC Beta. I found him high in the mountains north of Everlook. It took me a while to figure out how to get up the mountain. If you travel the road to 56, 36, then head off the road to the north, you'll get to the top of the mountain where I found Ursius. Ursius of the Shardtooth. Seek out Ursius. You don't have to do the horde quest to get him to spawn. Rinse and Repeat, tho you may need innervate at some point. Comment by Allakhazam Tamed and leveled to 60 to see if Ursius would make a good tank pet.
Every single stat was points lower. Ursius's power was lower, attack speed slower, and overall dps seemed a bit lower too. PvE, didn't seem to make a lot of difference which you use. PvP, Bangalash is a much better choice I'd say as he still has a good run speed and can Dash whereas Ursius can not. Not to mention the faster attack speed and slightly beter DPS.
Overall I wasn't too impressed with Ursius. Comment by Allakhazam solod him as a lvl 56 hunter, laid down immolation trap and then cast concussive shot and scatter shot til my pet aggrod him. Comment by Allakhazam at the top of the hill with the cave, 63,33 maybe. Comment by Allakhazam was just running by and saw the Ursius, he dropped a krol blade.
Edited, Thu Jun 23 Comment by Allakhazam For those hunters intersted; Ursius has 2. No resists. Comment by Allakhazam thanks slugfoot, imma gonna tame him instead of my Ironpatch Comment by Allakhazam Soloed it at level 57 hunter..
Piece of cake.. Just kite him with wing clip get a few shot in and let your pet do the rest.. Comment by Allakhazam Did just solo this bear with a 58 mage, the tactics where, icebolt, run, icebolt, run, icebold, run.
Then you are at everlook and let the guards net him and then icebolt icebolt and so on :. Comment by Allakhazam It has been said that he drops nothing but quest credit, but I got a green belt. Comment by Allakhazam Just tamed Ursius and he is a decent pet, I like his damage.
Comment by Allakhazam Hey hunters that tamed him, is his defense lower then normal bears? Comment by Allakhazam Didnt drop crapola I hate that! Comment by Allakhazam I tamed him at 56, tried a couple times to solo him later at L57, and couldnt pull it off. Comment by Allakhazam Solo'd him as 56 Hunter with a 55 pet, pretty easy, i just laid down immolition trap and sent pet on him I used scorpid sting on it cause Ursius hits hard I did use one Major Mana Potion If your a hunter and not beast spec your prolly not gonna be able to solo this Comment by Allakhazam solo as 56 frost mage.
Comment by Allakhazam I soloed this guy as a 54 frost mage, kited him while using my water elemental and having my ice barrier on. Dpsed awhile then got low on HP so used ice block to get Ursius on water elemental, used bandage, then used cold snap to pull my elemental back out. Then did frost nova again and I used evocation, dps a little more then he was down.
Hits hard or atleast to a mage he hits hard just keep him away from you. Nothing cool dropped from him for me, but skinned rugged leather off him. Comment by Allakhazam i need a good bear to tame at lvl 20 can u help me out? Comment by Allakhazam There's a Horde quest out of Felwood to kill him, so his loot table isn't going to be anything to write home about.
Comment by Allakhazam Took him out easy as SL lock. Put your blueberry on passive, DoT and fear all the way, life tap and bandage if needed. No problem. If Nightfall procs, go for it. Comment by Allakhazam btw did it easy as 58warrior and 56 mage for the quest Comment by Allakhazam hunters Comment by Allakhazam i am 55 shaman with armor and he hit me for with his claw and a hit, much harder than a regular bear, killed me and 56 mage easy.
Comment by Allakhazam Just tamed this bear for my tank whilst solo-ing. Was a pretty easy affair at level Comment by Allakhazam sorry for the 2 post i did a mistake. Comment by Allakhazam Did this with my Warlock 53 resently.
Git helped witha War Rather simple, thouhg he hit me for almost I used CoE on him, some dots and let him chase me, whilst the War dps:ed him. When the Ursius charged the War, I just feared her? Repeted this a few times. And yes, I found her near the big tree North of. Comment by Allakhazam If you go to the coordinates on the map 60,32 you will be on the hill where Ursius spawns. That hill has yeti roaming around on it.
If you kill the yeti singular or plural Ursius will spawn, so keep an eye out after every kill. I've done it twice with consistent results. There's no waiting at all.
It might take a couple kills to find the right placeholder. This is the hill with the two stone pillars and uprooted tree stump at the bottom of it. The Moon Horror Den is also on the north side of the hill.
Comment by Allakhazam soloed as a 53 lock. Comment by Allakhazam Mmm Comment by Allakhazam 63, Lvl 53 hunter ATM. Comment by Allakhazam Ursius walks very slowly back and forth the same path.
There is a small mountain to the West of the two Mountains that are to the North of Everlook. Ursius starts his walk at the top of this small Mountain, walks down it and then back up the first mountain in front of moon Horror Den. He then walks to the top of this mountain and continues walking at the top of the mountain until he gets to the second mountain behind the first. He walks down this second mountain on the easterly side and then back up the hills directly to the east of Moon Horror Den.
Half way up these hills, he turns around and walks back on the same path.
